Juvenile Court Is a Different World
There is a separate criminal justice system for youths under the age of 16 who are accused of criminal acts. Juvenile law is more geared toward rehabilitation, but it is a mistake to take it lightly when your son or daughter is accused of breaking the law.
Your child deserves a second chance. That's what we're here for.
The criminal defense lawyers of The Wool Law Group routinely represent teenagers accused of juvenile offenses. We are familiar with how the juvenile courts work and how to navigate your child through the system to prevent him or her from being unjustly blamed or punished too severely.

Experienced Defense in New York Juvenile Law
Juvenile matters are handled differently. A youth cannot be convicted of a crime, per se, but can be adjudicated as a juvenile delinquent. There are no juries, and the procedures and rules of evidence are different. Serious or repeat offenses can result in incarceration in a juvenile detention facility. Major felony crimes can be transferred for prosecution in adult court.
Most kids are amenable to less drastic measures, but you need a skilled lawyer to explain where your child stands and negotiate with the juvenile court prosecutor for the most favorable outcome. We work to avoid lockup in exchange for probation, treatment, restitution, community service and other terms acceptable to the court.
Our attorneys, N. Richard Wool and Alissa Joy Wool, have represented juveniles accused of every type of crime from drug possession or underage drinking to theft, traffic offenses and assault.
